River Pride Names Corey Fram as 2025 Keynote Speaker
Tourism Leader and Respected Ally to Speak at Closing Ceremony in Thousand Island Park
Thousand Island Park, NY — River Pride is honored to announce Corey Fram as the 2025 Keynote Speaker, delivering remarks during the Picnic in the Park and Flag Raising Closing Ceremony at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, in the Pavilion at Thousand Island Park.
A lifelong North Country resident and champion for the Thousand Islands region, Corey Fram is more than a tourism leader—he’s a trusted and visible ally to the LGBTQ+ community. His commitment to inclusion is consistent, heartfelt, and backed by real action.
As Director of Tourism for the 1000 Islands International Tourism Council, Corey has spearheaded Pride-themed marketing campaigns and forged meaningful partnerships with organizations like 1000 Islands River Pride and Watertown Pride. His leadership has helped ensure the region isn’t just beautiful—it’s welcoming to all.
“Corey embodies what it means to be an ally,” said River Pride organizer Alex Hazard. “He shows up—consistently, proudly, and with purpose. Whether it’s advocating behind the scenes or standing beside us at events like this, Corey leads with heart. His presence at River Pride sends a clear message that LGBTQ+ people belong here—not just during Pride weekend, but every day of the year.”
Fram’s impact reflects his philosophy that community and tourism go hand-in-hand: “Tourism isn’t just about attracting visitors; it’s about creating a place where everyone feels welcome,” said Fram. “That work is not done, but it is work being done. Our partnerships with Pride organizations show that the 1000 Islands region celebrates diversity and hospitality in equal measure.”
Corey’s deep roots in the communities along the St. Lawrence River and his dedication to service run just as deep. A native of Alexandria Bay and resident of Theresa, he’s a father, a youth sports coach, and a voice for regional tourism at the state level, serving on several boards including the New York State Tourism Industry Association, where he is the immediate past chair.
“I’ve lived nearly my entire life along the St. Lawrence, and I never take for granted the beauty and opportunity this region offers,” he said. “It’s our responsibility to help share that experience with others while building a stronger, more inclusive community.”
Hazard added, “It means so much to have someone like Corey closing out our weekend. He’s proof that allyship isn’t performative—it’s powerful. His leadership makes space for all of us to feel seen and supported, especially in places where visibility hasn’t always come easy.”
River Pride 2025 promises a weekend filled with connection, celebration, and community. Corey Fram’s keynote will close out the event with heart, hope, and a vision for a more inclusive future.
